Facility Overview

1102 Grand is the premier telecommunications hub in the Midwest region, providing data center infrastructure for carriers, enterprises, and service providers to interconnect reliably and cost effectively.  The property is strategically located for local telecommunication companies due to its direct access to the Axon ring (the fiber optic loop that connects the Johnson County area with downtown KC) and for national and international telecommunication companies due to its geographic presence in the center of telecommunication rights of way in the United States.

POWER

1102 Grand’s power systems include multiple levels of built-in redundancy, including redundant utility feeds, redundant generators, redundant power distribution, as well as redundant Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and DC plants with N+1 redundancy levels or greater. 1102 offers both AC and DC power.

HVAC

1102 Grand’s HVAC systems also include multiple levels of built-in redundancy, including redundant cooling towers, backup water supply, redundant cooling loops, and redundant computer room air conditioners (CRACs) with N+1 redundancy levels or greater.

FIBER ACCESS

1102 Grand has diverse fiber entrances on 11th and Grand with additional POEs planned and slated for completion in 2014.

MEET ME ROOM

1102 Grand’s Meet Me Room offers no monthly recurring charges (MRCs) for cross connects.  Additionally, with the building and the Meet Me Room under common ownership, 1102 Grand will provide a stable, long-term neutral environment for network operators to thrive in the Midwest.
